Traditional Chinese Brides

Happy Lunar New Year! In honor of this beautiful and colorful annual celebration, I'm releasing my favourite photos from a styled shoot I hosted last year. I truly hope you enjoy and are able to gain inspiration from tradition.

A current and common wedding narrative is that you need to shed “old and boring” traditions in order to celebrate the true connection between two individuals. Lots of popular wedding content encourages couples not be shackled to tradition and elope in the most mind-blowing locations on earth with dirt in their toes and wind in their hair.

I’m really ALL for those beautiful, meaningful, and moving weddings!! But I also do believe there’s a severe lack of diversity in the wedding industry. So in late 2019, I started a personal project with some talented vendors to learn about the traditions of Chinese culture and showcase the beauty of upholding traditions with modern twist (stay tuned). In 2020, I want to continue this project, learn about unique wedding traditions across the world, and most importantly connect and learn from wedding vendors from all different backgrounds.

A huge thank you to all the wonderful vendors who made this possible.
